Collecting Tips: Building Sets
Much of the fun – and challenge – of putting complete sets together is gone, now that they are available each year for a modest price. But it still can be a great experience to "build" an older set, using perhaps a base of cards that you've already collected and then filling in the missing cards. If you haven't even started, consider purchasing "lots" of 100 to several hundred in a particular year or years. These would often be commons at reasonable prices (see my lot prices on the site) , and you can collect the star cards and other missing pieces as you go along.
